What the drawings we hand over contain
A layout drawing is judged on what it reserves, not on what it shows.
The site plan
Layout of the buildings, of the technical areas and of the traffic routes at site scale.
The layout drawings level by level
Position of the equipment, of the walkways and of the main networks, level by level.
The sections and elevations
On the dense areas and everywhere headroom decides something.
The openings and the loads
Openings in slabs and walls, loads transmitted to the structures. This is what civil engineering expects from us, and as early as possible: once the concrete is poured, a forgotten opening has to be core-drilled.
The traffic routes and accesses
Maintenance access, lay-down areas, routes for handling equipment.

DWG and PDF, at the scales of your documentation standard.
A layout drawing is not one document, it is a family
What we call a general plan covers several distinct documents, plus the guide drawings intended for the other trades.
The layouts
Architectural, equipment, structures and walkways, main cable tray routing, building utilities — sewage, safety showers, washing stations —, quality zones.
The loads plan
The loads transmitted to the floors and the structures, in a form directly usable by the structural design office.
The combined services drawing
All disciplines superimposed on the same background. That is where clashes are seen before site work, not during.
Updating an existing layout
A service in its own right: taking over an existing layout means understanding what has moved since, not merely redrawing it.
The guide drawings
Civil — openings, slabs, penetrations —, metallic structures — walkways, ladders —, electrical — main cable trays, control panels. These are the documents the other trades expect from us, and as early as possible.
What the guide drawings do not do
They pass on to the other disciplines the openings, the loads, the envelopes and the constraints to be taken into account. They do not replace their own detailed design, which remains their responsibility.
The room needed to withdraw an exchanger bundle, the turning radius of a truck, the operating area of a valve, the clearance to pull out a motor: those volumes are easily forgotten when they are not drawn, and their absence is paid for at every intervention afterwards.
We therefore treat them as design constraints on the same footing as the physical envelopes, and we have them validated by your maintenance teams before the layout is frozen.
